Laura

Operations Manager

I started my career in the dental field in 2007 as a registered dental assistant after graduating from The Occupational Skills Center. Ive worked at many dental practices but truly love being a part of our offices family! Here at Valley Dental Center, I work hard to build relationships with our patients while helping with all their scheduling and accounting needs. The Valley Dental Center team is like my extended family and I enjoy coming to work to get to spend time working with such a smart and caring group. We work well together to achieve our common goal of creating a warm and inviting office for our patients.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy walking my dog Lola, grdening, and spending time with my family. 

Emily

Registered Dental Assistant

Emily adds 6 years of dental assisting experience to our team. She completed her credentials at Pima Medical Institute and is currently continuing her education towards becoming a Dental Hygienist. She strives to provide a judgment free space for patients and understands that the dental office is nobody’s favorite place to be. She loves the Colby Family Smiles comfortable atmosphere and being part of a small team built of strong women that she gets to learn from every day. In her free time, she enjoys painting, weekend trips to the Olympic Peninsula, and being outside with her husband and their two dogs- Maggie and Kygo!

Rachel

Registered Dental Assistant & Patient Coordinator

Rachel brings 25 years in the dental field to Colby Family Smiles. Starting shortly after high school in the late 90's as a Certified Dental Assistant, Rachel worked towards her EFDA license obtained in 2010 while working in public health. Rachel has also worked in pediatric dentistry and has now found her strong suit with patient interactions outside of the oral cavity. Direct, ethical, and gentle communication is something she strives to ensure with each patient. One of the things she prides herself on at work is her ability to relate to phobic or distressed patients and help them feel comfortable and at ease. Rachel is passionate about people and life! Should you engage in a conversation with her, you’ll hear all about her 3 successful children, her husband, her Chigi Maisy and Chipin Bamma, her Alaska Native heritage, and her deep love of serving the marginalized in the community. She’s always excited to meet you!
